With the consent of His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, the Ministry of Finance has announced the successful pricing of its 19th issuance of short-term Sukuk Al-Ijarah securities.

According to a press release from the Ministry of Finance, the BND 35 million sukuk carrying a maturity of 91 days with a rental rate of 1.43 per cent (beginning October 9, 2008) will mature on January 8, 2009.

With this issuance, the Brunei Government has thus far issued over BND 1.2 billion worth of short-term sukuk Al-Ijarah securities since the maiden offering on April 6, 2006.
