With the consent of His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, the Ministry of Finance, Brunei Darussalam announced the successful pricing of its 14th issuance of short-term Sukuk Al-Ijarah securities.

The $28 million sukuk carrying a maturity of 91 days and giving a rental rate of 0.88% begins on June 19, 2008 and will mature on September 18, 2008, according to a finance ministry press release.

With this issuance, the Brunei government has thus far issued over $1.1 billion worth of short-term Sukuk Al-Ijarah securities since the maiden offering on April 6, 2006, it said.
